Amanda Cox - founder of Mums Night Out! - is a Real Mum to three boys, wife to a chef (yeah, it's great - NOT!) and owner of fluff free parenting website realmums.com.au, aimed at providing support, information and resources to all Australian mums in a fun, satirical and inclusive way, via articles, business directory and the site's Retell Therapy Forums.

She is a novice writer (you can read her works at Diary of a Mad Cow), speaker and advocate for Mother's health.

A child of the 1980's, she has a fondness for the music of the era - but not the dress code! She also loves a great night out, but couldn't face letting her hair down at currently available night spots. Apart from them just getting into the swing of things at well past her bedtime, she has 4 males at home who grope her on a regular basis - she didn't really want to go out for further groping.

So, she created a night for all Mums to dress up a bit, and get together in a fun, SAFE environment, eat good food (without having to share), drink good wine (without having to share) and to dance around their handbags to daggy 80's music. And not just 80's either, but all kinds of danceable-to music.

Running since 2003, Mums' Night Out! has also supported a number of charities that support women, including PaNDa, the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Women's Domestic Violence Crisis Service.

More recently, it also became the official Award Ceremony for the Real Mum of the Year Award.
